Hefei flies directly to Vietnam, and international routes are upgraded again

On the afternoon of June 18, Hefei Airport held an “International and Regional Route Recommendation Conference” to enhance the influence of the airport’s international and regional routes, deepen cooperation with airlines, airports, and travel agencies, and help Anhui’s cultural tourism industry and air transportation develop in a coordinated manner.

The promotion conference invited five airlines and major tourism companies in the province that operate international and regional routes at Hefei Airport, including China Eastern Airlines, West Airlines, 9 Air, Korean Air, and Thai Lion Air. The event focused on promoting international and regional route resources, group passenger policies, and cultural and tourism supporting measures, attracting more domestic and foreign passengers to travel through the Hefei hub and helping the construction of Hefei Airport as a regional aviation hub.

In order to better meet the travel needs of passengers in the summer, on June 21, Hefei Airport will open a new route to Hanoi, Vietnam, operated by West Airlines, with a planned flight schedule of Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. On the same day, Hefei Airport will also increase the number of flights to Osaka, Japan, which will be operated by Jiuyuan Airlines on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. After the increase, China Eastern Airlines and Jiuyuan Airlines will operate a total of 8 flights from Hefei to Osaka, Japan every week.

At present, Hefei Airport has opened 6 international and regional routes, with flight cities including Osaka, Japan, Seoul, South Korea, Bangkok, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, China and Macau, China. A total of 123,000 international and regional passenger throughputs were completed, a year-on-year increase of 6.2%, including 84,000 international passenger throughputs and 39,000 Hong Kong and Macau regional passenger throughputs; 1,403 international and regional flights were guaranteed, a year-on-year increase of 14.4%. The average passenger load factor was 74.1%, a year-on-year increase of 2.8 percentage points.

In the next step, Hefei Airport will continue to enrich the route network layout around serving the needs of local economic and social development and the people’s convenient travel needs, and continue to promote the implementation of the opening of routes from Hefei to Europe, Africa and countries along the “Belt and Road”.
